Our Mission Statement

The BEAT Obesity Foundation strives to improve standards of excellence for the treatment of obesity and its related co-morbid conditions, through clinical research, physician and patient education, grants and community outreach programs.

Our Purpose

We will provide education on the effects of overweight and obesity on a local, national and international level, to help create awareness that medical help is available and appropriate to treat and manage this widespread chronic disease.  Our philanthropic programs will include community-based events, such as free medical screening and educational sessions, supervised exercise walks and/or coordinated road races and other events, and the use of technologies to motivate patients and their families to increase physical activity. We will utilize the corporation’s website to provide informational facts, statistics and other related data on the causes and treatment options for obesity, as well as the need for prevention of obesity across all age groups. We will conduct ongoing clinical research using novel approaches to weight reduction, in collaboration with other entities who share our mission. We seek to contribute meaningful medical and epidemiological data to the scientific community, for furthering the discovery of mechanisms for obesity reduction and/or prevention.

Michael Manavian

Known as the Bodybuilding Golf Pro, Michael has dedicated his life to improving performance in many arenas. Through his aspirations of becoming a professional golfer, Michael has turned over every stone possible and brought them all together in a coherent and simple to demonstrate systematic approach all designed to best develop champion athletes. His foundational principles can be seen in the Triangle of Performance – which states, a stimulus creates a biochemical response which requires nutrition to repair in order to return you to being able to handle more intense stimulus. In other words, training creates a hormonal response, which requires food to repair.

Combining this knowledge of how all the systems of the body work, blends seamlessly in his vast biomechanical knowledge of the golf swing. Being able to observe and diagnose a golf swing utilizing the most advanced 3D motion capture software, Michael doesn’t guess on the measurements of the swing, and understands how to create the most efficient changes to the golf swing’s motor program by utilizing progressive step by step cues that lead the student to understand for themselves the fundamental tasks required to play successful golf at any level.

Michael is an Authorized Instructor in the Stack and Tilt® Network and is the author of Atomic Golf. Michael serves as partner of the Greenwich DX Sports Labs and is our Director of Golf and Performance Nutrition.
